5th RELaTED Project General Assembly in Helsinge, Denmark

RELaTED Project partners gathered in Helsinge this november to present the work and the advances done during the last six months.

Partners of RELaTED, Renewable Low Temperature District, presented their advances in the innovative concept of decentralized Ultra-Low Temperature (ULT) network solution during a three-day meeting held on November 12-14. The meetings took place at the premises of the RELaTED Project partner METRO THERM in Helsinge, (around 50 km North of Copenhagen and a population of approximately 8000 people)

During the thematic sessions and meetings, project partners presented the progress made in the last 6 months and established the work plan for the following semester.

This visit to Helsinge was also a great opportunity to know the local district heating plant which supplies a network of 1600 local users and has an interesting mix of gas boilers, gas CHP engines, electrical boilers, two solar thermal fields and two large storage tanks.

Visit to METRO THERM’s factory

RELaTED project partners could also visited local METRO THERM´s factory and focused on the production of domestic hot water heat pumps, in particular the innovative micro booster heat pumps which are a part of the RELaTED project as well as the production of the water cylinders, the cabinet parts, the insulation foaming, the refrigerant circuits and the final assembly of the heat pumps.

The RELaTED Project partner METRO THERM is one of the biggest suppliers of water heaters in northern Europe.

METRO THERM is a Danish company specialising in heating and hot water. Since 1947 METRO THERM has become one of the biggest suppliers of water heaters in northern Europe, producing for the Danish market alone around 50,000 units annually. METRO THERM offers solutions within central heating, district heating and renewable energy such as solar energy.
